Coaching

Coaching is appropriate for writers who have already learned the basics about the craft and want support for an ongoing writing project.

We talk about your vision and goals for the book. I help you to sort through your material, brainstorm, and structure your project. We break the work down into manageable tasks with set goals and deadlines to which I then hold you accountable. I suggest reading comparable titles to learn how other writers have solved problems with craft.  I read the pages you send and provide feedback on the work-in-progress. I am your cheerleader, midwife, sounding board, collaborator, and provider of honest opinion. Wherever you are in your writing, I can take you to the next level.

Karen Propp is a gem! I have worked with Karen for several years on different writing projects. Karen helped me put together a book proposal and after I sold it, was there at every stage of the book writing and editorial process. She began as a consultant/editor and helped me to create and sustain a vision. I am grateful for her support, guidance, and talents. She has become my collaborator and friend. A treasure!

During the the many years I worked on writing my memoir, in-between publishing twenty-five children’s books, I’ve hired several dozen writing coaches, from famous writers to obscure professors--the best editor and coach I worked with, by far, was Karen Propp. Karen worked with tremendous intelligence, and energy, and empathy. She is pure gold.
